--Help a Noob-- Car/Deck wires don't match.
Ok I'm totaly new to Car audio so bear with me.
I bought an alpine deck off my friend to replace the JVC Deck in my 91 TransAm. He had to leave town on some work related stuff but before he left he explained to me what all the wires did. So i went about and took the face plate off my dash and undid the screws holding the deck in place. All the wires on the back of the JVC deck were different and smaller than the Large metal connectors on the Alpine deck. The Alpine deck is from a 85 Mazda RX7. Can i take the deck into a shop and have them re do the wires and install it, or is the deck just not compatible with the Trans am
----UPDATE!!-----
Here are some pics !

Looks to me like the plug on the jvc deck is already matched for the trans am wiring harness, all you need to do is identify each wire on the JVC end of the plug, then cut it off and then match up those wires to the alpine deck.
If you are unsure about it, take it to a shop that can do it. Should take about 15 minutes max.

Its easy enough to find a new harness. I bought a Demo Pioneer deck a few years back, and there was no harness. I just went into a local audio shop, and they had me out the door with the harness in 5 min. Then, its just a matter of matching up the vehicle specific harness and the deck's harness on the bench, then its just plug and play from there.
I take it that you did not install the old deck yourself? If you didnt, its straight forward enough. Just make sure taht you double check the wiring, and test it before you install the deck. There is noting more irritating than installing a deck an realizing that the constant power/switched power are reversed or something like that.
