yah the cobalt harness is the same and only 07+ models need the pac control for door chimes, but u will loose your steering wheel audio controls unless you buy the adapter for that.
Harness Metra = 70-2103
05-06 cobalts need the GM antenna adapter
Metra = 40-GM10
Scoshe = MDA1B
Single DIN kit number
Metra = 99-3302

Double DIN Kit Number
Metra = 95-3302

With that harness, you'll need to find an accessory power source.

so nothing bad will happen. no fires or anything. people were saying use the wiring harness without the PAC module your airbags may not deploy and other stuff like that..

Is all that stuff just a bunch of bull. or is it true.

So does anyone know were I can buy metra stuff? any online sites or any local stores around Calgary Alberta.

And how would you find accessory power since the harness does not have it?

Right now I just have some subwoofers that i wanna set up. but later I wanna change out the stock speakers and maybe add some more in the trunk..

what kind of head unit would u suggest.

something with 2 Sets of 2V preamp outputs (front, rear/subwoofer)
or
something with 3 sets of 2v preamp outputs (front, rear, subwoofer)

You will need to run an ignition line with the basic harness. I can ship you all of the items that you require. Shipping is cheap as it is light weight and rather small size. Get a headunit that will allow you full expansion of your system at a later date. Ideally something that is 3 preouts, higher voltage, ipod ability, bluetooth as it will become law in Alberta in short order as well. Do you have a budget on the cd player?

like 200 bucks on the CD and probably 50 bucks for the hardware, dash kit, antenna adapter,wiring harness and accessory power thing.( is this what you mean by runing an ignition line with the basic harness.
( http://www.cobaltss.net/forums/showthread.php?t=7241 )

I want the CD deck to have 3 preouts, ipod ability, USB for flash drive, aux, bluetooth don't really care about, don't use my phone much and if i do i will pull over.

and I also need the CD deck to have red illumination so it matches my cars clusters.

so probably around 250-300 shipped, would be good for me.

I also need a amp wiring kit for my Alpine mrp m500 mono.

I blasted you a pm for pricing on a deck, the deck harness, install kit and antenna adaptor. I missed the part about the wiring kit for the amp. Are you after a cheap wire kit or a good wire kit? If it means that you have to wait to put the amp in, do it. Do not sell yourself short on the head unit just to get subs running in the vehicle.

Ya I don't just wanna go like dirt cheap like 20 bucks. I want this thing to sound good!!

so maybe 50 to 70 bucks on an amp kit. Would you be able to sell me one?

For the Amp kit I don't need a long power wire because my battery is in my trunk with the subs and the amp.

And for would you mount your amp on the box? Is it bad.

& I have no Idea of what you mean by running an accessory power to the CD player.
Do you think using this How-to would work? http://www.cobaltss.net/forums/showthread.php?t=7241

No mounting the amp to the box is not bad. If it causes an amp to fail then you have much larger problems at hand (like buying a POS amp that has a improperly mounted circuit board - not a case with your Alpine). I can easily build you a wire kit for your amp using quality 4 gauge line.
