The Ground Wire

Apparently the best place to put it is the seat belt post. Is this true? Would there be a huge disadvantage to using a self tap screw and putting it close to the amp? Also how do you remove the seat belt bolt...? Thanks in advance.

seat belt post is probably the 1 of the best if you take the paint and crap off and put it under the carpet. there really isnt a best ground place, as long as it attaches to the chassis is good. main frames might be a little better.

Go and get a weld bolt, it's a bolt that's flat and doesn't have a hex for a wrench.

Get some washers and a nut to fit the bolt.

Get one with about 1/4 diameter.

Find a good spot on you metal under a panel or something.

Grind away the paint to bare metal,

get someone to weld the bolt to the metal.

After cool,, tape threads, paint the area to prevent rust.

Now you have a %100 groundable spot for all your grounds.

Just get some connectors to fit your wire and the bolt, tighten down!

You can't go wrong.

my back seats fold down so i just took off the plastic on one side and placed a bolt there. it was good because i was able to clearly get at both sides for a tight/clean ground.

Thanks a lot guys. Since it was mad freezing out when my buddy and I did my system, I ended up just sanding a small area for the ground close to the amp. Took a self tapper, drove her down real tight, and so far so good. No for using the can to prevent rust, do you just completely spray over and around the ground connection (including onto the ground led?)?

I usually drill a hole right thru, scrape paint away with a razor blade, sand whats left, then wipe with alcohol/or acetone and bolt the ground down, this way its not going to loosen after a bumpy road.
