Okay.....here is the situation...

This is what I am going to be running:

1.Avionixx 400.2 on my CDT components (125x2 rms @ 12 volts...more at 14.) 2x30A fusing.

2.Elemental Designs NINe.2 on an Elemental Designs 13KV.2 subwoofer. (400x1 rms @ 12 volts...more at 14) The website says 2x40A but I have a feeling that it will be 2x30A. The 400.2 says 2x40A on the website...but it is actually 2x30A right in front of me.

I have an existing run of 4awg into my truck split into two 8awg lengths via a fused knukonceptz distro block. My inline fuse-holder off of the battery is an AGU style.
I am almost certainly going to be upgrading my "big 3" underhood wiring to 1/0 awg.

#1: Is this wiring setup sufficient for my amplifiers current draw and power?

#2: If yes, What fuse (rating) should I use at which location? Inline fuse holder off the battery, fused distro going into the 400.2, fused distro going into the NINe.2.

#3: Is an agu in-line fuse holder sufficient? 80A the most I can go right?

#4: Should I just go into credit-card debt and buy all new wiring, distro blocks etc? (I HOPE NOT!!!!)

I really need to know because I am ordering some new stuff right away! (preorder amp and sub 1/0 awg)
thanks guys,
-Matt-

125x2 on a 2 ohm stereo stable amp makes 30x2A fusing sound more on the money to me.

I wouldn't necessarily worry much about slightly higher fusing on the distribution block. The 80A on a block with 4 gauge power feed to the amp will be ok, with the given that you already have a fused amp. The fuse on the distro is there more for the protection of the wire than the amp.

80A is the most you can go with AGU, as that's the highest rating I've seen for AGU so far.

If the fuses pop on the ED amp while running it hard, then you'll know you needed 40x2.

You don't really need 0 ga underhood wiring. Just look at the stock stuff. Nothing more than 8ga is there in the first place.

How far is the run from the D-block to the amps? Length of 8 gauge is the concern here. If not more than 3 feet, it's a safe bet you can use what you have.

I am almost certainly going to keep the 8awg runs shorter than 3 feet. I should be okay.....it would just suck to have to upgrade after.

I agree. You should be ok then. How big of an inline fuse do you have to your batt? 80A AGU? You might find that one blowing up if you like it loud.

That is what I was planning on using. I don't like it tooooooo loud

One more question before I order my stuff:

Sounddomain's "big three sticky" says that I should fuse the wire from the alternator to postive terminal on the battery. I think I am now going to use 4 awg.Should I just buy another in-line fuse holder and pop in another 80A AGU fuse for this section? This would be near the battery as well.

Meh.

Seeing that it's SoundDomain they have to retard-proof peoples' setup for obvious reasons.
