Save your money on the wiring kit, buy welding cable, 1/0, 1 or 2 ga, then spend the money on a nice convenient anl fuseholder with connections for 1/0 cable... If you can find one where you just have to remove a cover off the top instead of unscrewing the ends it is way handier when you have to take the fuse out to work on your system/wiring/etc

I'm going to guess that if you used a fuse bigger than the entire amount of amperage your battery could potentially discharge at once, you would get fire

Nope, the fuse is to protect the wire, not the battery. If the wire is passing too much current you will get a fire. Imagine the heating element in your toaster, then imagine it running under the carpet in your car...
