Do I need a Audio Filter?

I installed my amp, subs, kit an such for a few days I just had the wires going along my left side of car not held together all sloppy, I then put the wires under my side panels of the car to make it nice and neat. That was doing fine, sounding good then the next day I turn my car on and boom, the alternator noise was just wrecking the sound with a high pitch noise. I switched things up, putting my power cable separate from everything running along the left side of my car and the others on the right. My problem is somewhat fixed But if i turn the gain up on my amp I get the alternator noise again, should I be getting an audio filter for this problem or is there something else I am missing?? everything is grounded as well.

Ground the deck to the same spot as the amplifiers.
That might do it for you.
Good luck.
P.S. make sure all grounds are good and tight.

big 3 helps cause it does a new ground for the engine and frame eliminating some of that issue. reground the chassis of deck. check your ground on the amp. check your rca's. ( ground the outer ring end of the rca to the deck and see if that helps)

i redid the power of the deck from the battery using a bosch relay and helped alot.

OHH is your amp touching metal or screwed to metal???? if it is take it off the metal or secure it to something else.

umm what else can you check lol??

Make sure all of the grounds are bare metal - scrape away that paint!

I too say to check your grounds, ground your amp or amps to the same point make sure that it's a good connection(no paint, rust, etc) seat bolts DON'T count. Change the ground from the deck and check the deck it self some of the older cheaper or dying decks will be the source of the noise. Also check the RCA's to make sure the sheath has not been punctured when it was fed under the panels, it may have not been at first but after a few day's of vibration... Good installation is the best "noise filter" on the market. Those places are a start anyways, let us know how it goes!
