Just wanted to clear up what the problem was. Yes I had 2 wires crossed., but the one thing that IS screwed with the car is that the switchable is fine, constant is fine, however the ground...that's another story.
The ground reads nothing of course but when the ignition is put to "ON", it changes to a positive. I thought I was seeing things. So I and retested and saw 3 Positives...Yes 3 positives and then the dimmer/Illumination which of course I didn't bother using. Now this "Ground" showing a positive was 4V positive while the others of course were 12V.

I knew it was something small, but on top of that I didn't expect something that weird. Has anybody else ever experienced anything like that before.

Definitely a must to double and triple check with a multimetre in all combinations...like when key is ON/OFF and ACC.

I know $15 for a harness would help but in this particular situation it wouldn't have been no help....It's no wonder the stock radio seemed very "weak". I just made my own secure ground inside the dash to the metal.

Ah, yes... Reminds me of myself back in my "dumbass" days. I can remember hard-wiring many a Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth and thinking the parking light wire (black/yellow stripe) was ground. Worked great until dusk. At least I always had something to do at work after 8pm. [img]smile.gif[/img]
