Deck Harness Problem
#12
Alright well this is what happened. I originally bought a car with a Pioneer 3600 in it. Which I think is the year behind me. I than bought the newer pioneer 4800, plugged her in and everything worked fine, so I assumed I could just cut the one in the car and continue using it with the new one. What I don't get is, if the wiring harness worked in the old car, with both decks, and now that I cut it out, wired it for the new one and it doesn't work, I'm pretty sure the yellow/black wire needs to be wired into a power wire somewhere. Only loose wire I can remember in my last car was the white/blue which is remote.

Maybe this will help a little
So basically I have a yellow/black, and a white/blue (Which is remote), coming from the deck, and a solid blue coming from the harness. I'll ask my friend how he wired his into his car. He has the harness thats suppose to go with my deck, and the old deck.

Yellow/Black on a Pioneer is for Cell Phone muting. Leave it disconnected.
Does the factory radio have a clock in it, ie. is it a digital radio or is it an old school manual tune. If it is a manual tune, the constant power wire in the factory harness could be unpowered.
You need to test for constant power and ignition. If you don't have the tools for this, take it to a professional installer.

Actually I believe I have found the problem, I don't know why I didn't see it before. Where the original harness is, that plugs into the new wiring harness, the one wire is cut that connects to the constant power wire that goes into the deck. So basically, it's not getting any power at all. Should I attempt to fix this my self? Or get someone that is more knowledgeble?
