Deck angle
#1
Hey guys. My buddy has a 1988 Jeep and he wants to put a deck in it, but doesn't want it in the factory spot because of theft, he plans to have the top off whenever possible. So, after looking the Jeep over, I think the center console is the best place. Now, he would like it vertical, but I know that isn't good at all, what's the most I could angle the deck, so that he can still some what see the face of it.

What I've also seen done is that pepole have built a detachable pod for their hu. And they take the pod out when they go somewhere. It's sort of bulky and odd, but it also works for them.
Just a few ideas.

I've suggested a removable pod setup but he really wants it mounted in the console. So my question is what angle can I mount the deck at and still have it function properly, I know it can cause laser problems and such. He wants the slot facing I directly up but I don't think the deck will function too well like that.

What about one of these: http://www.tuffyproducts.com/console...xe_stereo.html
Is he worried about using the factory location because he doesn't want to take the faceplate with him?
