Closed cell foam - flooring dept. home depot
I was in my local HD today and noticed a product made by a company called Elastilon, it is a closed cell foam that is used as an underlay for hardwood floors, etc. I did the math (on a 107 sq ft roll after taxes) and its $2.26 / sq ft. Unfortunately I didn't have the extra $240 kicking around, but perhaps it would be worth splitting on with a friend!
Anyone seen or tried this stuff? It looked to be 1/4 inch thick

Ultimate-B-Quiet-100-sq-ft-w-Dynamat-roller
$2.62/ft^2 Lots of people on this forum use it and will testify on the quality (including my self) The seller is located in Alberta, canada (read: no duty/tax) I had it in less then week to my door.
He also sells smaller quantities so if 100ft^2 is to much, buy the 50ft^2. No need to go in with a friend.

100sq ft of 1lb MLV material, good for about transmission 35db loss, was $185.00
i got some stuff similar to Barymat M-100D 60db transmission loss. $160/27 sq ft
they have a bunch of different types to choose from with different size decouplers

There is different density and thickness to all foam products and both will affect performance. It is up to the consumer to decide their performance to dollar ratio
I think the one in the link a good choice due to the mold resistance, low offgassing, etc.
