Chevy Cavalier - Details Inside

Hey, I'm new here of course and before i start rambling i will get right into it so i don't waste to much of your time.

Basically, I have a Chevy cavalier and i had a set of logitech Z-2300 speakers laying around. I decided to put 2 and 2 together and managed to make up some wacky installation to install them into the car. Now long story short after a lot of blood and sweat they are working in the car... kind of.

Basically all i did was buy a 600W power inverter, put the inverter in the interior of the car and put the inverter wires directly to the battery and then hook the speakers into the inverter. Now i will show a whole load of pictures at the end of this thread and you experts can tell me what you figure but my first questions or statement is:

Sometimes the system cuts out. Not cut out like short out or drain out the power or the car dies or anything it is just sometimes the speakers will be playing (some times it was playing really loud and they went and sometimes they weren't loud at all so i know its not an overload problem) the inverter has some type of mechanical beeping sound that it does on errors and sometimes it goes off. Now it must be a problem that i did because when this happens all you have to do is shut off the inverter and then turn it back on and everything works like normal. this just gets annoying in the middle of a song sometimes and this happens. or if it happens a lot in a row. the weird thing is sometimes this doesn't happen at all. and i said sometimes way to many times there haha.

Anyway. after you guys figure that out (not trying to sound like an *** here, like do this do that, just moving on to my other curiosities) my second question is:

is it possible to wire these logitech z-2300's up to the actual car itself, or the car speakers per say? right now i either listen to the radio and have the default speakers on and things like that or i turn off the deck and all of that and i turn on the inverter and speakers and plug my ipod into that and listen to the speakers. it would be really cool to make it all as one if you know what i mean. Anyway if you have any ideas of how to do that let me know. Of course there will be a whole bunch of pictures of the deck and everything for you to check out at the end of the thread. i took some pictures of the speakers in the back to to show you the connectors if that helps
sorry if there are doubles i took 2 different sets and just decided to upload them all

anyway if you need any more information let me know, i tried my best and any help is GREATLY appreciated! Thanks Boys and girls!

nice smiley by the way

So I will tell you now, I don't know jack about car audio. Normally I just lurk around and wouldn't dream of giving advice. However, I may (MAY) be able to help with the first problem.
I have a power inverter also, and it has an alarm chirp that activates when it senses the power draw from the battery is below a certain level (10.2 amps I believe) and then it will shut off completely at another certain level of power draw (9.4 amps, I believe). This is a safety feature so that if you leave your inverter on it will never completely drain the battery. So if your logitechs (love that ghetto setup, btw) are pulling enough power to cause the battery output to drop, that may be what your problem is. First it chirps, then it shuts down completely.
I don't know if that's what it is, and since I know so little about this stuff I'm inclined to think it isn't, but I'm sure others more knowledgeable will figure it out, and even offer a solution, which of course I cannot do. Welcome to CCA and good luck with your system.

Thanks, i'm glad you like the system. I'm actually quite enjoying tinkering with it also. Anyway that could be it, it has a little digital reading on it i might have to go driving around with a buddy and tell him to watch how low the volts get before it shuts off... that is if it does. I also have a hunch that maybe its the wiring i used to the battery, i only used 10 guage and thats quite small compared to the wiring that comes with jumper cables

It sounds great actually, this speaker system is made for big rooms and basements and of course, computers. So putting it in a smaller car makes it real loud.
