best way to mount mids/highs ?

my tweeters are situated on the dash with dumdum to make them stick there and they sound great there.Some people will tell you that you must place your tweeter at 6in max from your mid but I think that it sounds like so place it where you think it sound better.

That is the recommendation for best "blending" of highs and mids. If you go farther than that you might have to start playing with the polarity of the tweeter to acheive a better blend.

In my Subaru, the tweeters were mounted in the sail panels and the mids in the doors. I had no issue with blending and it sounded great.

In my Tercel, the tweeters are mounted on the door 3" from the mids and it sounds great there.

If I could have found a higher mounting location in my Tercel I would have taken it because like someone else said, I like the highs screaming right at me. But, the convienence factor kicked in and I would have had to do too much working tearing apart the car to mount them any where else (and sail panels are non-existent because mirror adjusters fill them)
