Best current pricing on dampening / foam?

Looking to source out supplies for soundproofing my Subaru Legacy wagon once the temperatures warm up. I'm planning on installing approximately 100 sq feet of dampener plus closed cell foam to layer over top for the floor and in the doors.

I'm looking to find the best pricing I can for the following products:

B-Quiet Extreme 100 sq ft for US$134.99 plus US$6.75 shipping within Canada

from ebay seller acurael - looks like B-Quiet themselves, based in Lethbridge AB. This is better than buying through their site direct even with the 10% off CCA coupon code.

Alternatively,

Fatmat (no logo) for US$89.99 plus US$40 shipping within the US. ebay link http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270536197737&ssPageNam e=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_10102wt_958

Is the "no logo" Fatmat 'the real thing'?

As far as foam goes:
Black Volara Closed Cell Foam Waterproof 400"x15"x1/8" for $10.85 a roll plus $10 shipping within the US. I'll ask if they'll ship to Canada.

Any other good deals out there? I'm just trying to find the best prices I can...

What other low cost foam insulation options suited to car interiors are there?

thanks
Andrew

Thanks tyrfryer,

Any reason you went with Ultimate over Extreme?

Are you interested in the foam/insulation because you feel you could get additional improvement?

I sent B-Quiet a query including questions about their V-Comp etc their response was to basically cover everything with Ultimate or Extreme and didn't mention the V-Comp.

I'll probably order 100 sq ft of the Extreme to get the better quantity price and sell half.

I'll try doing the partial coverage with the dampener and go all out with the isolation/insulation type material.

I'm contacting Acoustigard in Mississauga to get their advice and pricing on the products they sell - they've got a few that may be suitable: http://www.acoustiguard.com/absorberbarriercomposites/index.html

I'll post back here with what I find out.

i would imagine because the ultimate is their thickest product, and probably a bit more butyl content in it aswell.

I just realized, after reading some other posts, that the B-Quiet Extreme is asphalt based and not butyl... not sure I am as keen on the Extreme now.

I'm going to order 50 sq ft of B-Quiet Ultimate on eBay from seller 'acurael'.

B-Quiet confirmed that it is their ebay seller acct. Pricing is better than from their website direct, even with the CCA 10% off coupon code.

Regarding MLV - I enquired with Acoustigard aka Wilrep. They have a Barymat 5 product, B-0B, which is 1/16" thick and 1 lb/sq ft.

http://www.acoustiguard.com/pdfformat/3401.pdf

Cost is C$67.60 per 27 sq. ft. sheet - probably need two to cover my floor. I'm still waiting on a shipping quote. If it is really only 1/16" thick and 1 lb/sq ft, it sounds like it might be better than the other 1/8" 1 lb/sq ft products on the market, just because its probably easier to work with (more pliable etc).

Regarding 1/8" MLV, I think I have found the best pricing on the 1/8" stuff at US$208.50 for a 135 sq ft roll (54" x 30') shipped to Ogdensburg NY where I can pick it up and import it myself.

The shipping is killer - because of the weight. Any pricing you see online needs to have the freight calculated in. Best price I found was $120 plus $88.50 shipping.

Ordered the B-Quiet Ultimate today...

C$150 delivered for 50 sq feet. I think that's a pretty decent deal.

Any update to finding a local source of MLV?

I'm looking to order from sounddeadenershowdown and would prefer not to spend a lot on shipping this stuff from the US.
