Battery terminals

Ok here's the situation, I would like to replace the battery terminals to accommodate 2x 1/0 + factory

BUT

My problem is the factory power cable (+ an -) are to short

what can i do to extend this to the new terminal in a safe, effective and "look good" way ?

BTW replacing the factory cable is not an option...

One idea, was to replace the batt and get one with terminals on top (for factory) and side (for audio)

copper pipe to crimp on an extension and thick, high quality shrink wrap to hide it.

In this case a mechanical connection would "technically" be better than soldering since the that large a quantity of solder can add a little of resistance. If you want to solder the crimp for added security it's all up to you.

Also, the wire is greener than the hulk.. Might want to try following the wires back in the harness to some clean copper and add on from that point. Or replace those wiring runs completely.

not a bad idea, one I know it's the alternator and I already have the big3 done so I could remove it, the other one probably go into the fuse box.

One goes to your starter, the other most likely goes to your fuse box. Your factory alternator wire generally goes to the fuse box and has either a high amperage fuse or fusible link to protect the wire.

Thanks for tips for the starter wire!

Before changing the terminals I will need to find place for an extra fused dist. block under the hood...

The toughest part is the planning...

why dont you simply trace down the wire and remove the wire mounting clamp so you will gain more length to the wire( you only need about 2 inches) and then re strap it using a nice strong tie strap or two...then cut off the factory battery clamp... crimp on a 4 awg terminal and you're done! clean install and properly terminated...10 mins work!
btw... if you have a canadian tire store in QC they sell really nice brass terminals about $10 for a set of pos and neg.
