bass hits, lights dim :( time for big3?

I'm going to get MR2NR's deal, seems like a legit guy, i just need to get the measurements of the wires which ill do either tomorrow or saturday.
right now everything is stock (well except my bass system obviously), the battery, the wiring is all stock.
from what i read, big3 will help with the flow but whatever the solution is, big3 is only benefiting the car anyways.
ps. noob question, and dont laugh lol, how do you determine how loud is the system? by the amp or by what.. i mean, from what i know my system is 700watts right?
(jbl gto7001 amp and alpine type r 15' sub)

well the power of the amp and the number and size of the speakers implies the SPL of the system (how loud it really is). But it is better to measure the pressure produced by the stereo by using direct sound pressure measurements using a microphone or a pressure meter. The industry standard pressure meter is the TermLab and the standard for microphones is the Audio Control meter.
