Audison LRX 1.1k issues
My Audison LRX 1.1k is having some severe issues at the moment. Sometimes, no power gets to my sub even though the amp is on. This problem seems to occur when I shut off power to the truck; it doesn't just suddenly quit. I can then hear a fan spinning away inside the amp and even when I turn the truck back on and then off, the amp turns on and then off but the whizzing sound keeps going. I have found that if I disconnect and reconnect power, the problem goes away temporarily only to return later on. I have no clue what triggers this and thus I am very frustrated.
Second issue is that when the amp is actually functioning, and I turn my truck off, the "overload" light comes on showing red. It disappears as soon as the amp is turned back on and the amp functions properly again.
I'd like some help exploring the possible causes of these problems.
My setup is as follows:
Audison LRX 1.1k: 1100W RMS@1ohm, stable at 4, 2, or 1 ohm
JVC 350W RMS Dual 4 ohm voice coil subwoofer wired down to 2 ohms
Inline fuse which has not blown
8GA Power and ground wires
Any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Almost sounds like it may be overheating....is it getting good airflow around the amp?
The sound may be the fan trying to cool the amp down even after you shut it off......
BTW, I would get 4ga power and ground for that amp right away.....8ga won't cut it on a 1KW amp.....

Could the 8ga wire be the cause of the problem?
And I didn't think it would be an issue considering i'm only running it at 350 RMS. :S
And regarding the air flow, the amp is just sitting on the floor in the back of my truck with a good couple inches all around it. (I say truck but it's really a small SUV, a Ford Bronco II)

You say that the amp shuts down a short time after you turn off the engine right? Could be the amp is seeing a voltage drop and is going into protect mode. Is the amp OK when the truck is running?
Check your battery. May need replacing. Get your hands on a volt meter and check the voltage of the line coming from the battery at the amp.
Low voltage will cause heat in an amp because it has to work harder to make power from less. The 8 gauge wire doesn't help this situation.
One more question. Does the amp shut down on low volume? Or only when turned up? Guess that's two.

Yes the amp runs fine while the truck is running, it just sometimes won't turn back on after the truck is turned off until I completely disconnect the power from the amp.
My battery should be fine considering it is fairly new, and I did test the voltage at the amp with a volt meter and it read somewhere around 14.4 volts with the engine running, so I doubt that that is the problem.
I have only noticed the shut off after running at fairly high volumes, but it's hit and miss so it's really hard to pinpoint the exact trigger of the shutoff.
