Alpine V12 MRV-T707

K I have this 2 channel amp that I normally use for my front door 6x9's.
Only I want to hook it up mono to two SVC 4ohm subs, at 2 ohms final.
So I d/l'ed the manual & specs for this amp. It shows power ratings for 4 ohms stereo, 2 ohms stereo, and 4 ohms mono. It does not show a rating for 2 ohms mono.
Does that mean it'll burn up if I try it at 2 ohms mono? I only want it for burping, not music...

I had a 2 channel amp that was stable at 4 ohm mono. I ran it 2 ohm, like you want to do, it took around an hour of loud music play to send it into protection. I think your alpine will hold up just fine for burps.
Now what the hell are you doing that you need that amp to burp?

That amp will burp just fine at 2ohm mono but the lifespan of it will be decreased substantially.
Why not just sell it and purchase something that suits your needs? A 707 is not going to burp much power at 2ohm anyways.

K so I got his subs (two Alpine 12in. Type "S"), and his amp is screwed into the side of the box.
So... I could run his amp (Rockford P3001, 300w x 1 @ 2), or I could run my Alpine at 2...
To run both amps, I'd have to open up his box to get at the wiring, and he siliconed 'em in.. so I'd half destroy the box doing so.....
So.... my Alpine or his RF... that is the question...

Ya so the V12 is 340w x 1 @ 4ohms. No rating for 2 ohms, 600 would be a good asumption.
But... After hooking up and testing the box & RF amp (300 x 1 @ 2), I figure it should be good enough... those Type S's just scream...
Gonna be louder...
This experiment has answered another question I've had for a while... Multi port freq's. For those that haven't figured it out, I've added an SPL box w/ two 12" Type S's into my van, just for the weekend.
My box (with it's SQ plug in place) is putting out ~35hz. The Type S box is putting out quite a bit higher, ~40. I've been wondering if you had multi subs in multi boxes, with one tuned say at 28hz, one at 33hz, one at 36, etc... if it would work well.
It doesn't. I could seperate each box's sound in my head, but together, it sounded whacky... "muddled" is the right word I guess...
So now I know
