...or get different tweeters from Solen like Vifa xt19 or xt25, which are pretty similar, or you could try Seas Neo tweeters, which can take all kinds of beatings. I really didnt know those Alpine tweeters were so fragile.

Yesterday, I installed two spx-17pro amped with a pdx-4.100. I am using the signal link jumper because I am not bi-amping it. I think I placed the appropriate position-axis regulator modules in every crossover. The head unit is a AVH-P4100DVD. Every channel of the amp are in their lowest gain level (not even nominal). The filters are set to HP, that throws High and Mid range sounds. If I put it on Filter OFF (for full range speakers) the woofers start to make a horrible sound (distorted) at any volume.
It is my first experience with component speakers. And that was the only way that I didn't get any distortion in the woofers. If I move up a little bit the gain level (nor nominal), I get a distortion in the woofers at any volume, again. After this, I got 3 doubts:
1. Is it normal to get that distortion in the woofers?
2. If it's normal, am I not approaching this amplifier at his best? What kind of amping should I use? Should I use the head unit amp?
3. If it's not normal, what are the mistakes that I possibly made?
