A4 system setup
I was just looking for some feedback from any of the knowledgeable members here on a system I am putting together. Any changes or criticism is welcome and appreciated in advance.
Hu - stock symphony
Fronts - focal 130 vr 5 1/4 components
Rears - focal 165 ca1 2 way coax
Sub - JL audio 10w6 in custom sealed box
Amp - JL audio HD900/5
Dsp - JL audio clean sweep
Dynamat in all doors
I am not a " car audio guy " but I did do some research and visited quite a few showrooms.
Work is going to be done by Radioactive in Burlington .
Thanks in advance.

Equipment is very good quality and should deliver excellent sonics. The only potential problem areas are the oem head unit (can be noisy and may need a lot of eq'ing to deliver steller results)and the install (if that's screwed up, all else won't matter), but, that's a low chance of problems as the clean sweep is an excellent product, and Radioactive has a good reputation. Should sound great..enjoy!

Thanks for the input, i feel realy comfortable with the guys at RA they seem to know their stuff quite well and were extremely helpful with questions even about lines they dont carry at the store. Plus their xmas sale this morning was killer!

You might want to look at the JBL MS-8 for DSP. It can be integrated with the factory stereo and currently blows everything out of the water.
A bit pricier, but it would be worth it to match the rest of your excellent equipment.
The only thing I would have done is gone with 6.5's up front... but I don't know what fits in your car.
EDIT: There are cheaper alternatives to Dynamat (look at B-Quiet Ultimate - Butyl Based)

I looked at the MS-8 and Bitone but for the simplicity i want and price point the clean sweap made sense. I wanted to go 6.5 up front but fromeveything i have read and shop advice it seemed like to much work to fit it into a 5.25 opening and i am sure the focals will be fine in there and perform the way i want. as for the dynamat it was 50% off when i got it so it didnt hurt that much. thanks for the info.

It sounds like you have done all your research.
The only other thing you may want to look at if you have the space, is a ported enclosure for your subwoofer for more output. I am guessing you already looked into that though.
Get it installed and post pictures!!!

I wanted to use up as little space as possible in the trunk and since sealed at .625 cu/ft is really small we r going to try that first. I will go to a tuned ported box if need be but the guys at RA said with the 500 w from the jl 900 it shoal perform very well. As for the clean sweep I have read both goood and bad reviews and I think it comes down to install. And if it doesn't work for me then I will look at one of the other peices mentioned. But really all of them have good and bad reviews so we will wait and c. I will definatley post pics once done. Not that there will be much to see since most of it is being hidden.

Ok so it's done and I have to say before I start on the sound, Lee at Radioactive is a great guy who did a fantastic job in my Audi.
As for the sound well it is just what I was looking for, the focals really open up the soundstage with soft but not laid back highs and great punchy mids. Th JL 10w6 is more than adequate in a tiny sealed box ( .7 I think). As for the clean sweep it performs it's duties seamlessly and with none of the noise issues some have stated they have on this forum. In all I am really happy with the change and really glad I did not have to sacrifice the factory look or HU to get it.
