I did my 96 Regal a few weeks ago, and i ran the wire through the passenger side, about 8 inches down from the dash. I did have to pull up some of the carpet however.

Yeah, i've checked the passenger side. However, underneath the passenger side dash there is so much electrical stuff, i'm afriad to start drilling. I didnt thoroughly check though, i'll have to have another detailed look. I'll have to search for a spot where there's no wires, and make sure i'm not drilling into anything important in the engine compartment. Thanks for the tip though, appreciated.

As for the firewall, in many GM cars you have to drill your own hole.
Not always, my 03 Monti Carlo had a 2 inch rubber grommet half filled with wiring on the drivers side just behind the brake cylinder, looks like plenty of room to push a large cable thru it.

About 5-6" down from the drivers side theres a big *** gromet you can push your 6 gauge throw there (6 gauge 58 amps of current) HEHE i like to see regals burn.

Okay, i drilled a small hole on the passenger side about 8" down (pulled up the carpet etc.) and then i took a metal clothes hanger and un-bent it so i could stick it in the hole to see where it came out in the engine compartment. I couldnt see it anywhere ..so then i went back to the driver side and did the same thing - i cant seem to figure out why i can stick a 3' clothes hanger through the hole and then not be able to see it on the other side.
Also, i found where the hood release cable goes through the fire wall, and there is about a 1.5" grommet/hole, but i cant figure out how to get my power cable through the grommet. its plugged and i dont want to start cutting away at it, or i'll wreck something....you're all probably laughing at me, but i cant do it...

58 amps of draw on 6 Gauge wire is fine. 15-20 it will handle upto 70 no problem with very little loss.

okay i drilled a hole and got the wire through fine. everything's wired up and it all sounds good. thanks to everyone for all your help. also, i found out why my battery keeps dying, i think its because i turn the key backwards and let the stereo play, which drains the battery pretty quick, OR the battery is just a piece of sh*t and i need to buy a new one...
