4 channel amp to passive crossovers with IMPRINT

I had been thinking of going active on my front CDT ES-620 using my MB Quart DSC4125. Currently my front stage is as follows.

Alpine 9886
Imprint
CDT ES-620's with passive crossover
MBQuart DSC4125

Now, with Imprint running am I able to hook up my front channel direct to the woofer and the rear direct to the tweeter and let Imprint decide the crossover frequencies and slope? Seems a little dangerous to me if Imprint crossed the speakers too low.

Or...should I get myself and active crossover of some sort? Use Imprint for it's additional EQ'ing but don't actually use the Imprint tuning,

Or... should I forget the whole active thing because I am better off just keeping and using Imprint?

No one has an opinion, now I find that hard to believe. You aren't gonna force me to make up my own mind are you?

Imprint will allow you to make manual adjustments, so why not stick with the Imprint and set the crossovers where you want them?

With my Imprint I am not able to make manual adjustments. If Imprint is enabled I can only change balance, fader and subwoofer. Only with Imprint off can I access t/a, bass treble, crossover and eq.

Or are you talking about manual adjustments on the amplifier itself. If so I was considering that however was under the impression that the Imprint should be used with all crossovers bypassed. Does Imprint respect crossover points that you set on the amp or will they conflict with each other?

Imprint has nothing to do with the crossovers on the amps. If Imprint sets the crossover @ 800Hz, for example, and you have the amp set at 100Hz, the amp is only going to get down to 800. If you go the other way, and Imprint's set at 100Hz and the amp is set at 800Hz, the amp is going to cut off at 800Hz and not let lower frequencies pass-through. With Imprint, it is software-hardware based. The software is where you'll make your manual adjustments, not on the deck (hardware).

Ok gotcha now, thanks for the information. Still pretty new to Imprint and haven't yet extracted anywhere near all the potential out of the system.I am so thankful I bought the mic kit with it.

Ya, Imprint is an interesting beast to tame at first. It's a powerful system though, IMO. Loving the sig BTW
