well if your rear sub was just inverted into the sealed enclosure, then it wouldn't be free air, it would still be sealed, just inverted. Having them wired both in phase.. now i think that would just be like isobaric loading.. cause they're assisting eachother there.

Now if you have them facing each other, and running the smae phase, then they will want to rip each other apart.

If you have them side by side, and in phase then they will cancell each other out.

If you have them facing each other, out of phase then they will be isobariclly loaded.

If you have then side by side, out of phase then there are not that different than having then both mounted normally, in phase.

but he'll have them facing eachother.. but not your typical face to face loading.. if they were face to face, you'd have them out of phase so that they're moving in the same direction.. anyways, i still think if you're having 1 inverted and 1 not, that you will want them out of phase..

Out of phase ? The amp isn't that smart, the only changes I can make would be to flip pos and neg feeds to speakers [ is this what you mean by out of phase ? ] This box thought comes from the requirment for good sound with limited power [ 75 w rms x 2 @ 4ohms streo ] and small SCV subs. As well as limited space in trunk.

First off, why would you want to do that ?

So long as you wire it up right you won't have any issues.

yeah, by of of phase i mean you would just connect the negative to the positive terminal, and the positive to the negative terminal of the inverted one.

Not new sub's , 7 - 8 yr old pioneers marked for sealed only . I would like to mount 1 sub at the back of box , basket out , 1 sub mounted normally in front of box . In about a 1 cft box. It should look like a awsomely deep single 8 IF it flys.
