0/1 wire under vehicle run

I will be upgrading my power and ground wire to 0/1 to complement my new MRP-M2000 (thanks santa). I have been thinking about the best location to run this wire. I am at a loss as to where to run it inside the vehicle without having to rip the interior out or live with an ugly buldge under the carpet. My wife says she's tired of living with ugly buldges around the house (me) and doesn't want to have to put up with one in the car as well.

I am considering running it underneath the vehicle tucked behind the frame. My intention was to wrap the wire in a protective sheath and ensure it was secured very well.

Is there anything wrong with this given precautions are taken to protect the wire from the elements?

Or perhaps a recommendation of a few generic locations that typically support running 0/1 wire. It is going in to a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu.

put it inside.

apply the effort and take the car apart a little bit. remove the seat and run it straight.

I've put 16 runs of 1/0 into a small honda, all inside, zero buldges.

Effort is not so much the issue is having two children, a wife, two jobs and 1 car. I cannot take the car apart so my options for running inside would be limited. Ironically it is the same reason I have been putting off sound deadening. If it is safe to do so under the vehicle would be preferable as the only spots that I have commonly used to run wire in the past would be quite noticeable. However, if there is a good spot to use inside I am open to suggestions.

Consider the down time on the vehicle if there is a problem with the wire chaffing or the ties snapping some months down the road that may render the vehicle inoperable or unsafe.... take the time and run the wire on the inside.

If you dont have the time to run the cable inside the car properly, then how much time do you have to do the rest of the build/install properly? Everything has balance...a 0/1 gauge tells me you are running gobs of power...and it is a waste of time and money if you are not taking the necesarry time care to do it right.

All it takes is a morning or late nite... Get up at 5 am and you will be done before Wifey makes breakfast...
Ugly bulges around the house? Time to lay off the beer and chips and start some jogging.

what the dudes said. running it under the car will take just as much time. consider yourself laying under the car with zero head room trying to run the wire thru all the spots. biggest pain in the ***.

get a friend, get a weekend, one of the front seats out (REALLY easy to do in most cars), take the back seat out, roll up the carpet and run the wire. then put it all back.

unless you have a bimmer, benz or a bentley where floor mat, seats and dashboard are all one bulletproof peace, running wire under the car will be just as much pain and effort as doing it in the car.

There right dude... Id be down to help you but ur kinda in BC so.. Just do what they said i have the same car and its not difficult to take apart start out by removing the front seat and un attatching the harness, max should take u like 20 mins.. remove the side molding lift the carpet up.. bring the wire under the carpet remove the back seat just the bottom coushin run the wire underneath that to the trunk remove the trunk carpet and cut a slice where u want the wire to come up. connect the amp. and ur done, if u run it in the most sencable place the're will be no buldges. Just use ur head...

If u run it under the car and it gets snagged on something that slices the wire and that touches something and its not grounded properly, you could potentialy start a fire + massive electrical problems..

I did a quick install with my 0 AWG and i didnt remove the seat, and i still have no buldges.

Good luck man! Take pics!

ok ok ok!
i have run lots of wires under my vehicles with zero problems for years including rca's. if run with the vehicles electrical along the frame rail you will have no problems. make sure you have lots of ties and loom your wire.
my current install has both the ground and power 1/0ga run underneath following the oem wire pack which runs from the front to the rear along the frame rail. i have had a rear view camera which i installed 3 years ago with zero problems. this is not to say that problems cant or wont happen but they can just as easily happen inside the vehicle. a pinched wire insulation on a power wire run inside that is to close to a seat post or under it will very easily cause you problems and fires....

i say run it the way you feel best serves you just be safe about it!!
