looks like alot of people like the JBL. As far as fronts go, I was going to go with Morel Elate 9s for the front, but I've decided to go all JBL and use the 660 GTi as I can get them for a good price and I can keep the system simpler. I'll give them 300 watts a side with an RF power T600-4 bridged to 2 channel and use the passives. Head unit is an Alpine cda 9835...still mint from 3 years ago, and no other processors. I just want it clean, loud, and clear!

Since you are going big, might as well get one of those T1500-4 for the fronts:

According to Rockford birth sheet at 14.4V and 1% THD+N
4 x 350W @ 4 ohms
4 x 500W @ 2 ohms
4 x 650W @ 1 ohm
2 x 1000W @ 4 ohms bridged
2 x 1300W @ 2 ohms bridged

Talk about headroom!

Sikk: Can you clarify what you mean by "monsters"? As the OP stated: "LOOKING FOR SQL WITH MORE EMPHASIS ON SQ".

I have not yet had a chance to hear any of the DD offerings, but I got a chance to hear a JBL GTi15 today (thanks MTT!) and the SQ was absolutely wonderful!

the GTi's don't like to get beat on.. they really do just handle 750Wrms. We've even had pairs of them get blown up from the JBL/Infinity 1200Wrms amps when abused.

Man, sounds like a killer system. I am liking your 660GTI choice and vote for the GTI sub as well, and obviously with your amp the gains have to be way down. I would like to meet with you when you put it in, cause I want to hear it, especially those components. Please keep us posted.

if you are blowing GTI subs with that little of power you
are clipping the amp......

I ran the GTI subs for years...my last set of W10gti's were taking
1200w rms EACH (Crown BPX 2200.1) under extreame punishment....

I have blown the coils with Bass CD's but only when the amp
was clipped...with clean power they take 2x easily

still on of the best SQ subs I have ever heard...there really isn't
a better SQ sub out there
