all these claims of tapped horn being the most amazing spl box while the theory mentions nothing on the enviroment the box is in, or how much power is send to a speaker.

your claim of gaining 10 db's when power is increased 10 times was epic.

if you incrased power by 20 given the speaker can handle it, would you also gain 20 db's?

Speaking of car installs of course. for recognition you should post some installs or links to the DTH, This by far willl reinforce your accusations.

I not intending you to bring back the 26 pages i have yet to read.
Hello

To be clear, the Danley variant isn't at all like a 1/4 wave, other than at first glance a few, but not all of them may look like one.

While Tapped designs have been around for quite some time, they haven't been utilized by many because unlike ported and sealed systems, there hasn't been any software modelling available, at least not until 2006. Since 2006 forward, they have been gaining some favour.

The software that is available, does not model the Danley variants, however, it won't hurt to download and look at it.

I found a site that reinforces the aforementioned.

Tapped Horn Experiments - google it

Also please read my posts correctly - I HAVE NEVER made an accusation! Some one asked me if I knew of another design approach that MIGHT offer an advantage in SPL and I said yes.

The Danley Tapped Horn Variant - I already have offered a few links to white papers, you tube videos, pictures and sites, but I have never said that it would be louder or not - just that it appears to be worth HAVING AN OBJECTIVE LOOK AT!

I do not know how many, or if an one is using them in 12-Volt, as the basic software model was only developed 4-years ago and by the responses that I have been getting here, my bet is that no is aware of Danley's new variant.

So again - and truly for the last time - this is not an SPL thread - I have only made mention of the DTH because at first, I was asked in a nice way to provide some direction and again early this morning some else nicely asked me to summarize the key points.

But it seems that a few of you are hell bent on making it sound like I am saying that it's simply the best and that you should use it and I have not and am not saying that.

What I am saying is that it's one of the latest designs that is performing very well in the proaudio world and at one time, ported designs were thought to be the best in the proworld (not anymore) and they were proven to be quite useful in car audio - so MAYBE these might too.

But I don't know - that is for you to discover, if in fact you feel you need or want to make a change.

Thank you and please stop miss-quoting me and move past all of this

Hi Yuli

You and I have exchanged several posts between us.

I don't wish to reopen this discussion because you and other keep miss-quoting me.

As I have said several times - try it out or don't that's all up to you.

I have simply said that it's worth looking at and it is. But the choice is yours...

Have a good day...

Perhaps once I am done chatting about SQ - I will open an SPL thread - we can get into this stuff there - agreed, but not here.

well i did try. but according to you i am unable to try it properly cuz you are the only person that knows how this is done.

i dont get it, why recommend something which you yourself view as unattainable by anyone but yourself.

that's like Jesus telling people to give walking on water a try. you know what I mean?

Yuli - I never said any of things that you just claimed (nor-did Jesus)- now stop lieing or we won't beable to be friends one day - an you might find that you in fact want me as one!

I am very handy at cutting wood, and measuring speakers and amps etc... and as mentioned before, I don't mind helping in this way with people I like.

So let the dog rest now so that he may have some energy for you latter in his SPL thread....

Deal?
