Subs inverted vs. Inside the box

if you guys knew anything about SPL, you wouldn't be asking these questions haha
as for my comment, its hard for me to explain, but i would think that inverted, the motor structure wqould interfere... like the idea is in my head but i can't put it into words

Then maybe you're the one that needs hooked on phonics buddy.

well there's no question a speaker has a front and a back wave...
But because the motor in actually being effeted by the HIGH pressure levels in most boxes, and then by inverting it, it is being suseptable to a LOT LOWER pressures outside the box.... I will have to place $20 to say the impedence rise will be different.
In my street box 5 years ago i did 170's inside the box. outside was mid 150's at best location (not on dash..lol) Does anyone know, or can TEST this theory?

Wire your woofer out of phase. Now when you play it or burp it, it sees INcursion first, and then Excursion. Put it back into phase then you have EXcursion before INcursion.. Hope you get my drift...LOL

The pressure only acts on the cone which in turn causes a difference in rise. From testing, smaller box = more pressure = more rise
now if you take the motor out of the box makinging it bigger, impedance should go down, slightly

Perfect Lessy! So you are saying the impedence will change? well in most cases?
Not Inverted There is less cone, with more magnet/coil/basket, and all moving parts in the way inside the box to direct and even effect the pressure in your box. Now put inverted and pressure directions change in the box dramatically... There is different pressures on the basket/coil/cone/cap/motor outside the box. Now in the box you have nothing obstructing the pressure flow of the cone. I guess my theory was about pressures on the other parts other than the magnet, which would change impedence rises. The magnet just gets in way of air flow, and changes how the air/pressure flow moves in your box!
Wow... it's ealy i hope some of this makes sence..
