Subs inverted vs. Inside the box
#11
Ive done a to the ear test with 2 18's sub up port back and didnt notice a difference in output or peak at all.
I heard people heard mechanical noise when inverted but mine are right behind my head with aluminum coils and I dont hear a thing

yah man, cuz a magnet that's up side down is no longer a magnet
noobs
but on the side note, doesnt matter which way the sub is mounted the spl will not change.
#14
i'm not that retarded. but rather the sub is now pushing INTO the enclosure rather than OUTSIDE the enclosure (the cone that is)
#16
WOW I didn't know there's only one side to cone... man we all must be retarded to think that there was 2 sides to a cone LOL Looks like we do live in a 2 dimensional world!

Hold on... In Theory the Impedence rises should be different if your sub motors are in the box, or outside?!? Outside it becomes freeair for the motor instead of being trapped ina smaller cabinet. Someone should measure Impedance rise while the woofer is inverted and compare the 2..

the sub is pushing in both directions regardless of how it's mounted.
impedance will be the same in both instances
