Do those meters do up that high? like the highest I’ve seen (except for professional ones) go up to 130db I need a lot higher can you accurately use formulas for example for every foot closer you add +3db someone said you could do that is that true or can I hook a special microphone up to my computer like at the db drags ?

I have a hyerdynamics 186+ sensor, it seems fairly accurate, only off by a few tenths from TL

What’s a cheap db meter that goes up to something like 170 or higher it doesn’t have to be extremely accurate it for curiosity mainly and maybe some tuning later.

even a microphone that you hook to your computer.

i'd suggest getting the hyperdynamics 186+ because its cheap, and its comparable to the TL

I belive it can be found on eBay

are you serious the radioshack? the only one I found is this one

RadioShack.com - Home Entertainment: Accessories: Audio accessories: Sound meters: Digital-Display Sound-Level Meter

I don’t know much about it but I believe “somehow” it’s a cheap Chinese thing that’s not good for a bass race machine but I can be wrong
