Whats the best way to paint MDF?

i recall mine, i used 1/2'' mdf because i was too cheap to buy a full 3/4'' piece. then i just covered it with heavy felt b/c i thought that's were all the magic came from. little did i know that it's all about the sealing.

my first box was sealed pretty good but that's only cause of the 3 bottles of caulk that was used trying to cut everything free hand with next to nothing for tools oh yeah they came out pretty! I borrowed a box from a buddy I told him like 1 year ago or more and man it's so sad the bottom is all hacked up to try and make it even. It would do more justice being burned then being put to use.
