Sand it, apply a sealer, then prime, then paint.
Done deal

my first box was kinda funy, all different thicknesses, and colours, and leaked like a **** till we siliconed it
how bright did that glow under a blacklight?

ahh....
first boxes.
i recall mine, i used 1/2'' mdf because i was too cheap to buy a full 3/4'' piece. then i just covered it with heavy felt b/c i thought that's were all the magic came from. little did i know that it's all about the sealing.
i also thought that pretty boxes worked better - boy was i ever wrong now my boxes usually look like poo, but they can (usually) pound; with the exception of boxes found in brown or black colts using square subs.
anyway, next year i will hopefully have not only loud, but pretty boxes as well. i plan to do paint jobs on most of them...
