you can push any sub with any amp, as long as the sub is withing the amp's lower impedance limit. [img]smile.gif[/img] Just gotta be careful not to clip the amp, or overpower the sub.

I believe he was referring to "is the amp enough to get the most performance out of this sub in the recommended box" and the answer is no.

And because it is a single 8ohm driver you will need an amp that does about 400rms at 4ohm bridged. Some other amps will do the same power at any impedence but they are much less common and most are more expensive. The JL amp for example.
It is a good sub though and will take 200rms and a bit more in the recommended boxes.

Those older flat piston PPI subs are great. The pros were very nice, but so were the standard flat piston subs. (I almost bought one last year).

Hey, if you got it for free, then thats pretty awesome [img]graemlins/thumb.gif[/img]

Give it a try with the amp.. doesn't hurt to try. The amp will not even get warm driving this sub.

A solid 300W @4ohm amp should be able to drive this subwoofer well (The sub will see ~150 watts). Stay away from the class D mono amps, as they usually put out their power at lower impedances (2ohms or 1ohm).

what are these subs worth?

i have a pair of tens, and have no clue what teh specs are or anything.

cant find anything on line about them either.
