what car to get?

If it was me...I would spend half on a decent car...and then take the other half and put together an Extreme SPL car....
Actually...I have someone who wants to give me a car for just such a project......but nowhere to work and no real $$ to do it with....
But time will tell,right??
Keep on Thumpin'!!

If you have 30g's then be a man about it (unless your a woman then I'm sorry ahead of time for saying that ) I say you put $10-15,000 down on a Honda Civic, and use the other 15-20,000 to show what your imagination is all about. However you can always buy one that's already done for ya, but that's for pussies LMFAO! Just Kiddin
However there's nothing like having $15,000 to customize your very own unique vehicle With that money I could create a civic for you that would have girls dropping their pants for ya, that and you would put any car on the road to shame when it comes to speed and handling. Civics 'own ***', but go ahead and buy that mistsubishi that will cost you $1000 to change the spark plugs.
Cheers.

Depends on what you want the car for.
I'd suggest get an older Honda Accord 5-speed, do a Prelude V-Tec motor swap and then trick the car out. Hondas are awesome for reliability and have a HUGE aftermarket. Servicing them is a snap and is relatively cheap. The Accord can be mild or wild (Supertouring style). Sedans are great for sound. Insurance is great. Can't see you going wrong on with this. Taking it a step up, the Audi A4 sedan is also very nice and going relatively cheap now. Wholesale on a 1999 V6 quattro is in the $17K to $18K range. So expect the low $20K range. Maintenance on them if you have a lemon is hard on the pocketbook though.
Some good points brough up about things like maintenance, insurance, theft, etc, etc. All important facts to think about prior to dumping the money. Sure, it would be exciting to drop on a twin turbo Supra or something. But that's a stupid car to get into unless you have the time and the dough to support it. Then again, you can always learn that lesson the hard way and tell us about it later

One thing I would not do anymore... which i did couple years ago and wont do anymore ever..... is to get a brand new car. Get a car thats two years old or so. Thats your best bet.
Lots off ppl are saying to "soup up" cars... I dont know about you but i like to take my car places (clubs, bars etc..) and not having to worry about it all the time.
For 30$ you can get a very nice BWM, Audi, Nissan Max (which is a wicked car)... and blow away guys with "souped up" cars anyday. And as for customisng... I would take a BMW M3 over any done up civic or crappalier anytime.

honda's, despite the fast & furious mentality are only cool, and admired by children. and by that i mean anyone under 18 years of age in the head.
this is not true if you have a REALLY REALLY nice honda. but if you arent pushing 250hp with a unique one-off kit, custom made wheels etc. then you wont be getting your money's worth.
and for the record, you cannot do that for less than $30,000 and a lot of time.
got paint will cost several thousands of dollars as will proper wheels, the kit, the intereior etc etc. i sell this gear all day long and i could price you out everything.
if you are gonna be serious you cannot buy your parts off the shelf, you gotta have eveyrhting special order.
if you are gonna buy konig, ractive, and some blue eurolights then forget it.
what's more is that you wont be driving that in the winter either which means you'll have to take another $5000 out of that budget for a winter car that wont eave you hanging.

Buy a granpa car (Crown Vic, Grand Marquis, Monte Carlo, Cutlass...). Great comfort, lotsa space, cavernous trunk most of the time, plenty of alternator head room. Not too expensive on the insurance if you buy something a few years back. and makes the ulitimate sleeper if you wanna beat those rice racers.
On the newer side of things, a Grand Prix GTP could be REAL nice.

There's nothing wrong with souped up Honda's but it's true they are for the more "immature" type.
For 30 G's I would get http://www.canadatrader.com/trader/r...0&cregion=1001
and spend a few dollars on a nice stereo.
