Thinking 4 New Audio System~
Hi everyone~ This is my first posting and I have to say this site is great.....a lot of information can be found in here.......back to topic:
I've recently been fed up with the factory speakers, and i'm for a new set of speakers and an amp. I drive a 04 STi and have a pioneer DEH-P8500MP (an old deck, but quality is still great) deck. So I want to have some suggestions on what kind of speakers (front only) and amp should i get? My budget is around $600-700. What brand is actually good for metal music?
Also, can my car be installed with component speakers? Cause I've went through some sites and they say component speakers are not suitable for my car but i do see the tweeters installed right beside the handles.
Should I get the amp and the speakers with the same brand? Do these combinations give out better quality?
Someone told me that JBL speakers and amps are suitable for my need, is that true?
Thankz for spending time reading my post~

my suggestion. take a look around different shops see what they have, listen to different speakers. if the shop is set up for it, if you find a set of speakers you like, ask to try it on different amps. go with what sounds good to you.
I would deffinetly go with components, you can always find a way to get speakers into a vehicle. If you've got the money, find a shop to build you a set of speaker pods(or a friend). or if your handy with fiberglassing, you could build them yourself. I've heard that going rate is around 300 for custom pods. I wouldn't know, I make my own, just what I've heard.
good luck
