no metal to be contacted anywhere, just concrete under the carpet.

I have a test... find someone with an electronic "Megger", put a lead on each of your *********, and hit the "Test" button, let us know your findings. then use the megger to meter your carpet... if you need something that'll measure higher resistance then 1000 megohms let me know... I've used a unit that will measure up to 65 terohms at 5000V...

Bingo my man Paul got it. this is what happend .
One day i was wiring my subs in the basement and was busy graphing the output on paper. So i was busy thinking so i stabbed the mm probes into the carpet and it started jumping. Normaly it wouldnt move at all but the rain from the shoes that were in the doorway soaked into the carpet creating a curcuit. It was just something i found and decided to share on this board.
