I'm sure that the 70 is a peak rating, not that it matters as I've never used an internal amp anyways.
I've seen the vortex, I'll ask my buddy about them. He has 2(soon to be 5) of the M2 component sets in his car and they sound nice.
I'll check what the price difference is cause I can grab the M2's for 159.

Yes 70 w peak is posible, they use the same amp chip as the Panasonic MXE CQ-C9800U
