My first system

Well this is my first post and I joined the site to get some input into my car audio system.

Looking around I can clearly see that the best subs are infact JL's. So Ill probably use a 10 or 12 w7.

Now my question is in regards to what I should use amp and speaker wise.

Sub: 10 or 12 w7

Amp: ????? 1000 4 channel sub? (Or should I go with 2 sub woofers)

Speakers: I have no idea whats good out there and how many amps I should use.

What I want to do is bridge 2 channels and run them to a sub. 500 total

I want to divide the other two channels to the back speakers. 250 each.

And then run my door speakers from my deck. Which has the 50x4 output.

(I know the back and front is not going to balance, should this be an issue)

Now this could be totally WRONG. And I am aware of that, but if it is, could I get some input into what I could possible do.

So basically I am looking for a good setup and a brand name to go with on the amps and speakers.

Thx for your time and excuse my ignorance on the subject.

Chris

first of all you need a mono amp for 1 sub or 2 and then use a 4 channel amp to power you fronts and rear speakers. or just the fronts and rear by the deck.

as of subs what you picked seems pretty good and should sound good also. and for speakers you should audition as many as possible to find the one you like and that sounds best for your ears.

use components in front and coaxials for rears

hope this helps .... if you need more help for something let me know

Thx for the reply.

What is a good range for the speakers. I mean should the door speakers be the same watt range as the back speakers?

How many watts is preferred to compliment a 10 w7 woofer. 300 or so? Less or more?

Are 2 amps really hard on the battery? Should I upgrade my battery? What about the altenator? Should I upgrade that too? Is it even possible?

I dont want to go out and buy the future shop crap. I mean I was in there and they didnt even know what a jl sub was when I asked about it. I guess I am going to have to go to a custom place that sells these specific parts.

lol i know what you mean.

as of amps for 1 10w7 i would use the 500/1v2

and for speakers it doesnt have to be the same power all over but if you use a 4 channel amp on all 4 it will be. around 100watts per channel should be good enough.

i would upgrade the battery. and as of upgrading the alt... for that much power i wouldnt bother.

FS energy component speakers sounds great but if you budget is higher than 300 a pair get something else lol ohhh and im sure FS know about JL but since they are on commition they want to try and sell theyre products and no other opinions about other brands. i know. im starting to work there and thats what they told me lmao. ill be the installer though.

How many speakers are you planning on? Two front door, two back door, two subs? Any planned for the rear deck? Kick panels?

Mono or 2-channel are best for subs, what you really want to look at is a class D amplifier for the rear. If you want to go really SQ you COULD use a B or A/B, but you won't get as loud with them.
