anybody ever used kicker comp woofers(not the vr's)
I'm thinking of going with a pair of 15" kicker comps in an IB setup in my jetta to save trunk space
I'm gonna be using one of my SS rubi 702's for the sub amp, 700 watts should be more than enough for an IB setup right ???
I've never heard subs in an IB setup, just not sure what to expect......
also anybody got any idea what a comp 15 goes for

there are alot of similarities in the comp and the cvr(comp vr). i can only tell you about the experience that i had with the cvr's. i used a alpine mrdm1005 to power them, thats over a kilowatt of power and they worked great. alpine doesnt recommend the type x in ib, but i have done that a few times and they worked very well in all the applications. just make sure that you seal the trunk from the passenger compartment very well and the comps or the comp vr's will both work great i suspect so long as you dont want to rip down the road with 50 cent at warp level, you should be fine

Although this is on the other side of the subwoofer size scale, I used the C6.5d in an IB setup as mid-bass in my CRX years ago. I remember them working very, very well in IB. As Dave said above, most woofers should work pretty well in IB as long as you provide lots of power & create a completely sealed baffle from back to front.

It's my understanding that because there's no enclosure to help control the woofer, the amplifier is the sole control over how the subwoofer reacts. I was told as a general rule many years ago - more power = more control.
I could be wrong, it's happened once before

well I'm running 2 8's off a rubi 702 in my truck ported and they make all the bass I want
so I figured since I wanna go IB if I run a couple 15's even though it's way less efficient than ported they should give me adequate bass off 700 watts
defro thanks for the coment on the CVR's I'll have to look into a pair........
anybody know who in saskatoon sells kicker, does visions still sell em
