Letter from Moe, there looking for people to take judges training, if anyones interested his contacts are below.Feel free to pass this on to anyone who might be interested.
How are you doing my friend? I hope you had a safe and uneventful trip home from CES. It was great seeing you again and I’m glad we had the time to talk.
I had a number of people from Canada expressing the same interest you had, about getting judges training seminars and shows going in 2006. Surprisingly, the interest was coming from all over the country. I spoke with guys from Quebec, Ontario, Nova Scotia and B.C., and they all want to “get the ball rolling” this year. So, I began to think that maybe between all of us, we can make this happen. What I’m trying to achieve is to set up five judges training seminars across the country; one on the East Coast, one in Quebec, one in Ontario, one in the Prairies and one in B.C.. I’d like to have all five seminars happen within a 30 day span, within the next 4 months; I feel that if we wait longer than that, we’ll miss our window of opportunity for 2006. The trainings definitely have to happen before the start of our competition season and if we plan them close to the start of the season, everyone will be pumped to get out there and make shows happen. Plus, we would need at least that amount of time to promote the trainings so we can get decent attendance; what do you think?
This is basically the start of this project and I’d like everyone’s input before we take it any further, so if you have any comments or suggestions, please tell me. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
All the best,
Moe Sabourin,

What's the IASCA comp scene like nowadays ?!?!?!?!??! I've been out of the loop for a while but to be honest, I haven't heard a thing about IASCA in Canada at all from a show perspective.

Tom - Tim had 5 shows out here last summer plus there were a couple of others as well.
'Defro' has been representing the USACi side as well as a few other shops.
This summer could be pretty fun in BC.

Same here.. we run 1 larger SQ event a year out here, with a decent turn out... but no one has chased points in years. and Sanctioning fees got retarded so we stopped having them.
Kids want the trophies and prizes it seems, no one asks if its sanctioned.
Before the flame starts.. Its better to have a show than none at all.

One is planned for MB or Sask, I will be working with Moe on this.. if you'd like I can keep you updated.. you have my msn, just shoot me a e-mail or IM.
Terry man I agree the more shows the better, Iasca is trying to promote sales as well as a all around good sanctioned show so it will both benefit the shop and Iasca.. For more on this I'd talk to moe him self he'll be the man in the know up here.
I'm doing a little leg work for them if you guys want to get involved post here or just e-mail me and I'll make sure your added to the list and keep in the loop up until the meeting date.
