SIRIUS CANADA ADDS HOWARD STERN TO ITS 100 CHANNEL LINE- UP
We are delighted to announce that SIRIUS Canada will be adding Howard Stern and his Howard 100 Channel to SIRIUS’ 100 channel line-up for Canadian subscribers on February 6th.
Howard Stern is exclusive to SIRIUS satellite radio across North America.
Stern, who moved from terrestrial radio to SIRIUS Satellite Radio in the U.S. on January 9, 2006, is North America’s most recognized radio personality, and had the top rated morning drive show in the U.S. with an estimated 8 million weekly listeners.
Canadian subscribers will now be able to tune in to Howard 100 from his state of the art broadcast studio at SIRIUS in New York City.

Sirius took a HUGE gamble investing $100 million a year for 5 years in him.... Ive been listening to him since he first came onto Sirius at the begining of January (i get sirius through my dish network satellite) Hes alright, very opinionated when it comes to dealing with callers and likly to argue with them which makes for good radio. But hes on the downswing from his prime 10-15 years ago, but he still has his entertaining moments.
His counterpart on the sation Bubba the Love Sponge is horrid though, I do not like him one bit.....and Sterns sidekcik Robins fake laughter kinda gets me as well.
I myself like Opie & Anthony over Stern. Opie and Anthony on XM 202 are the only real competition Stern has and they are moving up real quick theyve been on XM since day 1 and Ive been listening to them for over a year and I enjoy them much more..... they do some of the funniest things ive ever heard im my life.
O & A's partners are Ron & Fez who are pretty good, better than the Love Sponge.
But you be the judge.... Sirius Canada should have opened Stern up since day one though,I really dont know why they didnt but it could be enough to maybe generate some more interest in them after the Christmas rush and if thats the case nice move Sirius.

And on the O&A deal that is to each is there own. I think Bubba is hilarious and dont care at all for O&A. But like I said everyone likes different things so I can't flame on you for you tastes.

When Howie hit Q107 here in the GTA a few years ago, he went straight to #1 in a matter of weeks. After a year or so, it seemed like his audience started to get tired of the same rants and bitchs all the time. I'll give him credit for being a leader in radio, in terms of expanding what is available and acceptable to large numbers of people, but he has been following the same formula for a long time now.
I haven't been able to hear him since he was taken off the Buffalo station awhile ago, and I don't miss the show that much. Interesting how his divorce timed out, I bet his first wife is kicking herself these days... [img]graemlins/jack.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/banghead.gif[/img]

I wish O & A were on Sirius, that's the only thing i really miss from XM. That show is wicked-awesome sometimes. I have XM in a board at work, but you can't really play that stuff in a store while it's open. It's usually pretty offensive if you haven't noticed.
