Okay this is for real and not bull $*%t at all.

Lesson here is if you are going to put an amp(s) in the spare tire well.... resin it first to seal it up.

3 years ago we did a Beretta that my buddy had with 8 12's in wall which some of you may remember.

The amp for the fronts was put in the spare tire after we were assured it did not leak and no resin was needed. The amp which he had for a few years already an Alpine MRV-T707 which had a ground loop noise right out of the box and no matter what we did it never went away. So it was last winter that the Beretta came back in because the fronts stopped working altogether. We lift up the trunk liner and see that the spare tire well was 3/4 the way full of water, and now the amp that was under water for god knows how long is now encased in a solid block of ice.

So we chip it out of the ice and open it up on the side bench to see how bad it looks. No visible corrosion so we took the heat gun to it for a bit and then put it back together to see if by some slim chance it may still work, or atleast we can watch it fry!!! So we hook it all up and no blown fuses yet, we turn the deck on........... the amp turns on, no protect light or anything smoking......... we turn the volume up and............. its working........and the ground loop is gone!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?! So I cant explain it but somehow the being submerged in water then frozen in ice, for god knows how long
actually IMPROVED the sound of this amp.

Now I know some people are thinking "well how long after that did it die?" it has been about a year now and that same amp just came out of that beretta and is going into another car tomorrow.

I am not making this up..... Swear to god...
