first post - help me choose a subwoofer
#1
I just bought a pair of infinity reference 6000cs series speakers for my 92 toyota regular cab pickup and now would like to add a sub to compliment them. I am running a 5 channel kenwood amp that powers 125w to the sub channel. My headunit is a Nakamichi CD35z although I've been considering upgrading to a 45z for the multiple pre-outs. I am far from an audio conisseur, so nothing too fancy please. Someone suggested that I get a JL Audio 10w0 10" sub, but rather than pickup the first sub that is recommended, I figured I'd get a few other opinions. Thanks.

Without major install work, your best bet is 1 or 2 10" subs in truck 'wedge; boxes. The boxes will be sealed.
The JL would probably be a good choice but you may also want to look at the Rockford Fosgate P2 series or other first or second level subs from other manufactures.
Your mounting depth will be your determining factor as to what subs you can choose.
Good luck.

Is the 5th channel (sub channel) 2ohm stable? If so, give it a 2 ohm load to get the maximum power. With mounting depth in consideration, I would suggest a single 12" Dual 4 ohm Voice Coil.
