eclipse vs xtant

Raise your hand if you have been to Mitek and seen Xtant amps being built?

I have. The machines they use to assemble the stuff, and the process that goes into designing the stuff is top notch.
If anyone had a clue about statistics, you would know that its much harder to make stuff that last 4 years without breaking.
I hate people bashing companies they don't know because someone online had been told by a salesman (yeah, they tell the truth all the time) that Brand X sucks.
I use Xtant in my own car. I have been around the block a few times. I have a number of brands I can chose from but picked Xtant because I personally believe in the product as far as amps. I don't fall for hype, after seeing the stuff built (and building a MTX amp with my own two hands), I know the stuff is good.

Pots on JLs work fine ... they have charts and everything so you can get exactly what you want for your system. They aren't quirky because they aren't one ohm stable, I just think they are quirky because there are more then a few Eclipse amps with wierd power ratings and others that you can't bridge (this has changed lately but still) and that Xtant only gives you seemingly arbitary crossover frequencies to choose from.
So basically what I am saying again is - I appreciate the extra flexibility pots give you, especially if they are accompanied by JL's super-handy chart that tells you exactly what you are tuning everything too.

He is pointing out a bad pot gets owned by a good SIP crossover any day of the week. Just have to buy a few SIPs and have them handy.

Tim, I don't care where my stuff is made. So what, it's Asian, that means nothing. And the comparison was between Xtant and JL, not Audiocontrol.

SIP meaning Xtant's jumper-based crossover getup right?
I don't think JL's pots would qualify as bad, though, especially if you set them with care. Referencing the chart in the back of the book, you can set your crossover within 3Hz or so if you do it with care... I believe that an unlabelled pot like on a Rockford or Sony would be a "bad pot" and one a "clicky" one on a JL or Titanium would be a good one, the best of both worlds - the adjustability of a pot with the accuracy of a SIP. If I'm wrong, then I stand corrected, but that's the way I am seeing things...
