K so I was reading the sticky on the sq board. And I got to thinking. How would I put mp3 songs on to a CD? Because every time I make a CD it has to convert the song and makes it crappier. And I'm also thinking of getting an mp3 player so would the music that's going on the mp3 player stay an mp3 or would it convert it. I use windows media player to burn my CD's, if that helps.

 

download a burinimg program like nero.but when you convert to mp3 you are losing alot of quality right there.and if you download music make sure you download the highest quality you can get 320kb/s is about the best your gong to ger 192kb/s is about average

From what others have said the difference between 128kb/s, a higher bit rate, and a CD is not audible...

 

in my experience when i have listend to songs compressed to 320kb/s instead of 128kb/s there is a big difference.and i would never compair 128kb/s to the origian quality of a cd

as for useing windows media player...
i dont use this progran so i cant comment on it.but as the name says its a "player"which to me means it is to only play music and videos.not compress and burn music.but i could be wrong.
there are many free programs that you can download.

using the right tools for the right job and things go easier and will most likely turn out alot better

Actually, I think 128kb/s was boarderline.. so you may hear a slight diff if you are listening on headphones or have a real nice system with low noise floor..

For most applications it wont make an audible diff.. IMO...

 

i find that if you throw an mp3 cd in, you can notice a bit of a difference, but afer a few minutes of listening your adjusted to it and it sounds fine.

 

Decompressing into WAV does not make the quality worse... WAV ia LOSSLESS audio format.

If you have a problem with sound quality then don't douwnload crappy 128kbps MP3 from P2P programs. Most MP3s on there are encoded using crappy encoders which are geared for speed rather than quality.

128kbps is very poor quality... maybe a 80 year old man with hearing aids wouldn't discern the difference between a CD.

I think CD transparency comes encoding at ~200kbps VBR using high quality setting in LAME.

Lumina find a version of Nero or Easy Cd Creator to use its easiest.

And you just select the option to burn it as an mp3 cd. You'll notice the difference when you add the first song that in mp3 you'll see you have a whole crap load of space left on the cd versus a regular converted audio cd you can only fit about 20 songs depending on the size per song.

If you have a cd burner on your computer it should'a came with software.

 

sweet now if only i wasent impaitent and burned my cd well atelaet now i know this stuff for my next cd.
