You are right, a diesel VW is just about broken in at 80K. Those engines are good for about 500K if you get your oil changes done.
The V6 accord is a nice car....good power....not near the mileage of a TDI.
The 4 cylinder Accord might be a bit under powered compared to a new TDI.....also the mileage will be less.

a TDI Golf in Europe recently went over 1100km's on less than a 55 liter tank of diesel averaging 120km/h. when they filled up the tank they estimated there was another 70km worth of fuel left. average fuel economy was 4.4l/100km

Mike, have you tryed Sleemans Fine Porter? it's not to bad for a domestic and it's almost as stout as the real stout...
