Brand Spanking noob!
Hey everyone! I was looking around and this seemed like a great forum to join with knowledgeable people so I thought Id join
I consider myself an amateur when it comes to car audio but Im always willing to learn , and now my quest. haha
After 5 years, my 2 12 PG octanes finally said peace. But Im not upset because Ive had them since highschool so I wont complain, they were great subs.
I recently just got 2 12 pioneer premier TS-W3004SPL's , which I have yet to find specs to build a box for still, a 4 guage wiring kit, and now Im in the process of trying to find an amp to drive them. I was looking at the Hifonics bxi2608d, is that overkill? Only asking because its in my budget, and I heard they are a tad bit under rated haha. Any constructive criticism and or advice is always appreciated!
Thanks everyone!

The TS-W3004SPL's arent a bad subwoofer, the sound quality on them would be quite good.
For greatest output, I would reccomend having the subs in a ported box.
Pioneer reccomends 1.65 cubic feet per sub in a ported box. The manual for your subs are here: Pioneer USA - TS-W3004SPL - Premier® 12" SPL Component Subwoofer with 3000 Watts Max. Power
For music I would reccomend having the tuning of the port to 34-40 hz. Here is a simple tool to design boxes in RE Enclosure Calculator
Seeing as those subwoofers are dual 4 ohm voice coils, they could be wired to 1 ohm. The amp you listed puts out 2600w RMS at 1 ohm, the amp would be a fairly good match but it would neeed to be turned down a little.
Personally I wouldn't reccomend Hifonics as they aren't that highly regarded. They make cheaper amps that aren't that efficient. For the price they aren't that bad though.

With 2 subwoofers with 2 ohm dual voice coils you can wire the subs to 2 ohms.
That amp you listed puts out 1700w RMS @ 2 ohm. That would still be a good match for those subwoofers.
Same advice goes though, shop around on amps see what you can find. Just look for something that puts out around 2000w RMS @ 2 ohms.

Yes the Hifonics amp you mentioned the RMS specs are:
4 ohms: 850 watts x 1 chan.
2 ohms: 1700 watts x 1 chan.
1 ohm: 2600 watts x 1 chan.
With 1700w rms at 2 ohms it would be a good match for those pioneer subwoofers. Although hifonics isn't the greatest brand, they are decent for the price.
The amp isn't bad, but you can probably find a better brand for around the same price. You could save even more money if you were willing to go used.
Maybe someone can reccomend another brand of amp to tek9. I am personally running US Amps amplifiers.
