best way to make custom panels for the trunk??

so im looking to mount my amp and line driver inbetween the tailights and rear tire and im wondering how everyone goes about cutting a apiece of wood to match the contours of the trunk? do u just use cardboard and start trimming until it fits right or is there a easier way??

i would start off with cardboard. its pointless and expensive to waste wood lol.

Your cuts should not be random. Use a scrib to mark the cardboard. That should be pretty close to your desired shape.

Scribe: Transferring the contour of one surface to another.
most people use a compass (used to draw circles - point on one end, pencil on the other)and run the point along the area u want to mark and the pencil will mark out the contours on the card board. u must keep the scribe at a 90degree to the work being marked..
