I THINK ITS TIME FOR SOME OF YOU HERE TO STOP BASHING AUDIOBAHN. FOR A COMPANY AS YOUNG AS IT IS IT HAS DONE VERY WELL.WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT PEOPLE THOUGHT THAT BECAUSE IT HAD FLASH IT MUST BE GRAP.THE FACT IS THAT IT HAS DONE BETTER THEN MANY OF THE OTHER BRAND NAMES OUT THERE, IN THE COMP ARENA.THE WAY IT LOOKS TO ME IS THAT IT IS ONE OF THE FEW COMPANIES THAT HAS GAINED MARKET SHARE IN THE LAST YEAR OR SO.

ok thanx to the guys that stand up for it against the trashing..Audiobahn is pretty damn good...they may not be the greatest product on the planet...but look at the smile on the 16 yr old kid when he first gets his product and sees it light up the trunk...cranks the volume and hears the sweet sound it makes... there now it was all worth it!

and BTW...the amp has and intake (hood scoop) on it for the sake of the reason it is called the "INTAKE SERIES AMPLIFIER" and YES there is a FUNCTIONING FAN underneath that "HOOD SCOOP/INTAKE)

A buddy of mine had a single 12INCH Audiobahn, not sure which model it was. But it had a peak RMS of like 1,000 watts. And he had it hooked up to an MA audio amp that did like 1400 watts x 1 at like 0.5 ohms or something like that. And that sub was so loud. It was louder then cars I have heard with 3 or 4 12"s in them! I can't say how long that it would have worked that well for however because he fried the amp like 2 days later due to a really crappy wiring job. Ended up selling the sub like a week later. Thing weighed like 80lbs and came with silk gloves too so you wouldn't get the chrome on the sub dirty. LOL! Had a sweet looking magnet to. If he had had the sub longer maybe I could have made a better judgement as to the overall quality of it. But he got rid of it right away. But for the day I heard it, man was it loud! I'd say above 150db's by itself! Course the sub was in a small hatch as well!

I definatly think that people pay way too much attention to name brand.

First off, the hood scoop is very nasty, but apparantly some do not think so [img]graemlins/freak.gif[/img]

Second, its funny how a couple of yrs ago when audiobahn was a new company everyone started to warm to this brand, then when it started having massive sales it now becomes crap or $^%# or whatever the opinions are.

Is funny how a brand is good and then when something becomes too popular it is now not good anymore .

There are lots of products like that! Whats the flavour of this month ?? Adire? Ed? Beyond Audio? when they get mainstream will they suck in this boards opinion?

 

Awe but there is something you are missing. Audiobahn DID degrade the build quality of their equipment for a few years. Lost most of the serious users that they had. Started out as good stuff...went to ****...now they are having to up the build quality once again because even the average person was starting to realize build quality wasn't there.

If it looks flash, that's great. But if it's flash and sounds like crap, then it's crap. Bottom line.

Hood scoops on the amps are teh ghey.

I think, that you have to look at who the parent company is, (Im pretty sure audiobahn is owned by a larger company,) and then decide if your serious about car audio or not, if you are then you wouldn't care what the stuff looked like (to a point) and when you get a little deeper into the parent company, you'll realize what they are after with their other products, such as Ichibahn, also very asthecly pleasing to the eye, but not real race gear such as reccaro, or sparco, the simple fact of the matter is, this company is more interested in sales than quality.
Which is ok, I dont know 'bout you all, but Im not buying a chrome basket or heatsink, just for the sake of having chrome in my car, Im buying peices that perform well, now on the other hand, If I had a show car in which I never drove, or listened to, swiss audio and audiobahn, might be more what im looking for. So dont hate, the plain facts are, all car audio sales are good sales, and the more people that get interested in our sport/hobby, the better, wether its through deep pounding bass, or really cool looking crap, who cares. nuff sed
