I bet that a very good and knowledgable installer can install Audiobahn and it will be just as good or better then most systems on this board. There's nothing wrong with Audiobahn, beyond those who buy it and trash it beyond it's spec limits................ a HUGE problem with Audiobahn. Yeah, it's not in the same league as Zapco, TRU and others, but it's not garbage.

 

I've heard some systems using audiobahn products that sounded quite good. I'm not a big fan of fancy amps with neon lights etc. I'd rather the $XXX.XX I paid for the amp go into the amp's internals. Neon lights and hood scoops dont make an amp sound better or play louder, thats for sure. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Most of the greatest amps out there are quite plain looking.

 

Audiobahn just puts a little bit more into looks than other companies, and their products are mass produced. Sony, Pioneer, Alpine, and other major brands go for looks also, without cutting out on the quality of the product.

I know most of you guys are all into SPL Comp, so looks doesn't come into it (if you could wrap your custom made amp in sheet metal it would be good enough, just look at your pine boxes with no carpet).

If you had the same price, the same performance, 9 times out of 10 you would pick the one that is from a big company, that is proven, and if not, you'd take the one that looks better.

Hell, just look at my subs.. inverted breasts with nipples!

 

No one is being immature.............. YET Paul, you've mentioned a number of very naughty errors that Audiobahn has apparently commited. I can't comment on that. All I know is from what I've seen/heard, is that the gear can be made to work very well, "IF" installed properly and not beaten all to crap by users that are abusers. Audiobahn mass produces a lot of gear, and to that end, there will be some "issues". But everyone has their issues. And no, I don't sell/market Audiobahn or am I in any way connected with them.

 

Have you taken a close look at the HCQ amps and chrome/flameQ subs? The chrome is impure, flame edges on the amps aren't buffed. Simply, the work is sloppy. There's little looks can do to impress the eye when you take a closer look at those peices.

I don't know if they did the work after, but the amps and subs they have down at Car Audio Heaven are all buffed up and don't have any flaws to them what so ever.

The older HCT amps, however, do look cleaner and have mirror-like chrome.

 

As for SQ, there is no difference between an Audiobahn amp or an _______________ (put your favourite amp manufacture in the blank). There may be measureable differences but nothing that will amount to audiable differences.

However, you really have to question a company's priorities when they focus on putting non-functional or useless features...Instead of putting hood scoops on their amps, why not make a better amp?
