Amp mounting?
#3
On the seat is probably better as the amp isn't subjected to as much flexing and vibrations as on the box. That said, if proper precautions are taken, the box mounting can be, and is just as reliable (I've had amps mounted to the box for years and years and have never had an amp failure), but, I actually mount my amps to a separate amp rack which is then mounted the the box with 1" urethane spacers(sway bar bushings), and latches ( to avoid the flexing and direct vibration, and for quick removal). The box is always well built with extra internal bracing and at least 3/4" mdf...so flexing and vibrations are kept to a minimum.

I made cardboard templates of the area under the carpet which covers the back of my setas, and used those to cut out 1/2" MDF. I made sure to counter-sink the screws securing the MDF to the seat frame, then made sure to use 1/2" screws to mount the amps through the carpet to the MDF so there was no chance of creating a ground loop [aka you don't want to mount amps to metal].
I personally would try to avoid mounting amps to a sub box due to vibration, but that's me.

I have previously mounted amps to sub boxes before with spacers too, & have never had any issues. This time i think i'll try to mount it right to the back seat, try something different/new. So it would be a good idea to mount a 3/4" mdf board to the back seat then mount the amp to that?
What would be the best way to secure the mdf board? would there b any chances a person could bolt it on?
