I had both an Alpine 7800 & a Pioneer DEX-M88. I loved both CD players but unfortunately both were stolen back when I had my '88 CRX.

If anyone has a DEX-M88 & wants the GEX-T70 SuperTuner IV module for it, I have one brand new for you!

lol, mine's sitting on my night table by my bed....I don't have a bible there because the 9255 takes up most of the space

Mine won't be sitting there for long though, I'm thinking about using it again real soon and swaping out my Denonford 8250.

I could have sold it SO many times but I just can't get rid of it, even though I could use the money. I can't let one of the finest peices of car audio fall into the hands of someone that would use it for evil....like playing CD-R's on a system unworthy of great SQ like the 9255 is made for.

Anyone want to sell their broken 7909?

---CD spits back out, when trying to load disc
---Display lights up.. and no sound.
---Volumne control... snap,crackle,pop.

Hey
I think the 7909 is an awsome deck, I have had mine for 13 years now with very few problems. The volume pot became noisy only on the left channel about 6 months ago. There were 3 different models available - pull out (my favorite), fixed and the anniversary.
Very easy to upgrade parts in it. Transport is good but I take it out and clean it once a year. When I took the original and the anniversary edition apart there seemed to be no difference in internals, all part number are the same too. The worst thing about it is the tuner, poor sensitvity.
Plays CD's and RW's fine, occasionally it has issues reading the last track on 80 minute discs, this seems to be mfgr dependent though. Always plays to the end of Verbatims and ??? black discs.
Later, J
